Celtic fan here, few questions...
Who are your best players? Do you expect to go through?
Also our players you should watch out for are, Ki- South Korean international, great passer of the ball.
Kayal- Our key man in midfield.
Izaguirre- Great left back, one of the most talented players in our team.
Hooper- Good striker very clinical
We are very strong in midfield but can be poor defensively at times.
Good luck

Best players in Sion: our goal keeper Vanins is considered as one of the best in the swiss league.
we also have a very solid defence led by a very skilled Dutch player, Dindsdag; last season it was the best defence of the league and so far we conceeded two goals out of three games.
Midfield is good too, Serey Die and Obradovic are icones here in Sion; apparently our new players will be qualified (Feinduno ex Bordeux and St Etienne, and Gabri, coming from Midle East but ex Barcelona) and should reinforce our team.
Strikers are the weakest links, but you should keep an eye on Sio, great potential and very talented, but i can't tell you more
I expect to go through... with Sion, nothing is impossible

Hi Ki man,
We are in quite a few trouble lately to qualify some of our players, the light seems to be at the end of the tunnel now and players should be finally qualified very soon.
Our best player (my opinion):
Vanis : our goalkeeper, he's had a fantastic season last year and his definitely the best in our league
Dinsdag : strong central back player, good shooting, taking most of our free kicks and penalties.
Obradovic: Our Captain, loyal to the club, lots of experience (35yo), our key player I would say, playing midfield.
Then we have a few good players but I would not say they are our best but very valuable players: Die, Vanzack, Adailton.
We then have some new players that are supposed to bring us up another level: Gabri, ex Barcelona and Ajax. Feindouno ex Bordeaux, St-Etienne, Monaco. and some other that should be up for the game too. I would say that our wickness is goal scoring, we miss a killer up front to score our many chances.
Good luck to you guys and hope we'll see a good couple of matches.

I think this will be a close tie.
Sion 1 Celtic 1
Celtic 2 Sion 0
That's my prediction, we need a new goalkeeper though or you might put us out §-)
Other than that we are a strong team and this should be an exiting tie.

Also, feel free to join us on our recently started forum.
As another Celtic fan I just wanted to say hello and wish you good luck for our tie in the Europa League.
I run a Celtic forum similar to this one, so if anyone fancies doing something for our site about FC Sion (I can provide a thing about Celtic too if you like) please send me a message on this, and I'll give you my email.
Also, if anyone has any questions about Glasgow feel free to contact me, thanks :)

We are 3 game into the season, 2 wins a lost. As said in another post we have 6 players that have not yet been qualified due to a dispute with the FIFA over a transfer a few years ago. Seem we'll have an happy ending on this today so would say that with our last season team we have started well but we should be even better in the coming fixtures with our new players.

Hello FC Sion fans! We hope you enjoy visiting Glasgow if you come over.
To get from Glasgow city centre to Parkhead is easy.
You can get the number 61 or 62 bus. Bus costs £1.80. A taxi, which will cost £6/7. Or you can follow the crowds and walk along the Gallowgate. (Search Gallowgate on Google Maps).
We're looking forward to this tie, we think it will be tough. We have a very strong strike force and midfield but we need a new goalkeeper and our fans are sometimes uncertain about our centre backs.
Here are some highlights from last season:

Hi celtic fan,
Could you please put here on the forum what will be your starting squad this season? Is Majstorovic still playing with Celtic? He was in Switzerland in the past (FC Basel).

At present our starting 11 is usually:
Zaluska (GK, not so good)
Izaguirre (LB, very good) Wilson (CB) Mulgrew (CB) Wilson (RB)
Commons (LM, very dangerous) Kayal (CM, Very good) Ledley (CM) Brown (RM)
Stokes (ST) Hooper (ST)
We still really need a new goalkeeper, and the defence is that great sometimes.
Majstorivic is still here, as is the South Korean midifelder Ki, who is also very good.

Hello everyone
I am a Celtic fan , have been all my life and i stay just outside the city of Glasgow , where Celtic play there home matches.
I hope the matches between our clubs are exciting but obviously i hope Celtic come out on top
A bit of information on Celtic
Our stadium , named Celtic Park , has a 60 thousand capacity
Our manager is Neil Lennon who i am sure you have heard about , he has been victimised in Scotlandis , he has been sent bombs and bullets in the mail and also last season away to Hearts FC he was attacked in the dugout by a Hearts fan.
Some information on our players
Our best players i would say are Beram Kayal ( midfielder ) , Gary Hooper ( striker ) and Emilio Izaguirre ( Left Back )
We also have players like winger Kris Commons , who is very skillful and pacy , he can shoot with power and scored over 20 goals last season from midfield.
We like to play open , free flowing attacking football , also at Celtic it is important to entertain the fans.
We won the European Cup ( Champions League ) in 1967 in Lisbon ,beating Inter Milan 2-1 in the final. The 11 players that beat Milan that day were all born within a 25km radius of our home , Celtic Park. Our manager at the time , Jock Stein , is the greatest Scottish manager of all time.
We have had many greats play for our club in the past , such as Jimmy Johnstone , Paul McStay , Paolo Di Canio , and i am sure all of you have heard , Of Henrik Larsson.
I hope that anyone who makes the trip to Glasgow enjoys thereself , but not too much , i dont want your team winning .
Hail Hail

Doubt it will be full but our ultra group the Green Brigade will create a good atmosphere, not too sure about the ticket situation as I have a season ticket, how many away fans do you expect to bring?

The game is included in the Celtic season ticket , it will be reasonably full , maybe 45 thousand
You should be able to get tickets for the Celtic section very easily before the game from the ticket office but if you want to be in the FC Sion section then you should contact your club

Not 60,000 full. There will be 50,000+ I think.
If you want to buy tickets before the game your best chance of getting them is early afternoon. 12:00-14:00.
Emilio Izaguirre, a left back signed from Honduran side Motagua for around 500,000GBP, he won player of the year for Celtic and in Scotland last year. Teams such as Manchester United and Arsenal are apparently interested with the player valued between £10-12m.
Beram Kayal, signed from Israeli side Maccabi Haifa, he is a Central midfielder who has became a fan's hero for his performances, especially in big games such as against our rivals Rangers, and tricky away matches. He along with Emilio have been here only one season.
Scott Brown, signed in 2007 for a fee of 4,500,000GBP the player has split opinions. However his early Celtic career was blighted by injury and his sisters long battle with cancer which she lost in 2008. He has went on to become Celtic captain and gives his all every match. He is famous for his celebration after a goal against Rangers last season in the Scottish cup to make it 2-2, we went on to win the replay at home and eventually won the cup.
Kris Commons signed in January for 300,000GBP is probably Neil Lennons best signing, he scored 14 goals from the midfield including 2 against Rangers who he rejected to join us. He is another fans favourite and a big part in how we play. He scores many from long distance and has a wide range of passing.
Gary Hooper, signed from Scunthorpe United for £2.5m has been a goalscoring machine, he scored over 20 goals last season despite being injured for a long period. This included 3 goals against Rangers, including a first-half double in a 3-0 win in February. He is also being tipped for a call-up for the England national team.
We have many other key players as well, such as Joe Ledley a Welsh international, James Forrest a teenage Scotland international, Anthony Stokes, a striker who both scores and sets up many chances and Ki Sung-Yueng a South Korean superstar who unfortunately cannot break the great Ledley & Kayal partnership. Going forward we are a very good side but we are still not great defensively and have struggled for a goalkeeper since the departure of Celtic legend Artur Boruc to Fiorentina in 2010.
